LithoNutri is a natural, marine-derived rumen buffer for dairy and beef cattle. Made from calcified red marine algae (Lithothamnium), it provides sustained buffering activity to help manage acid load and support feed efficiency with a more stable rumen environment.

Description

Naturally rich in calcium carbonate, LithoNutri helps neutralise excess acid when diets put downward pressure on rumen pH.

Laboratory tests show LithoNutri works across a narrow pH band, with initial results indicating that the product maintains a pH range between 5 and 8. This could be beneficial to reduce the risk of sub-acute ruminal acidosis (SARA) and improving microbial activity.

When to feed LithoNutri

Consider LithoNutri when diets include:

  • Acidic grass silage and maize silage
  • High levels of starch-rich concentrate feed
  • Forages with low levels of structural fibre, including spring grazing
  • High-performance dairy and intensive beef systems where acid load is a risk

Feeding rate:

  • Lactating dairy cows: 70 – 120g/head/day or inclusion at 1% in concentrate
  • Growing heifers: 20 – 25g/animal/day
  • Semi-intensive beef cattle: 60 – 90g/animal/day
  • Intensive/high-cereal beef cattle: 70 – 100g/animal/day
  • Available in: 25kg bags and 1,200kg tote bags

3-year shelf life when stored on pallets in a dry, ventilated environment and protected from sunlight.

Complementary rumen support with Biosprint
