Autumn is well and truly here and it is once again time to think about the condition of our ewes in preparation for tupping time.

Traditionally cereals were fed to ewes on clean grazing to promote flushing, however in more recent years there is a move toward concentrating on having the ewes in the correct body condition well in advance and reducing the amount of concentrates fed.  In place of this, mineral licks and drenches are becoming more popular to ensure optimum fertility and are easy to feed.
